The Strata Florida weekend was brilliant, the weather was very kind, didn't see
any rain until Sunday afternoon. As for the photos and video they will be on
line soon (when I get a few hours spare !) Last time used 120 Litres of fuel
this time (with my DEVICE installed) only used 70 Litres, looking
interesting ! still early days, much more testing and tweaking needed. If any
one has some spare time on Saturday, we are meeting at Allan's garage at about
10:00am to start work on the display for Woodvale.

A quick update on the Hydrogen and Oxygen project,
Made huge amounts of H2
and O2 drove about 1 mile and BANG !!!!!!
one of my cells
exploded, one of the M4 bolts that was one of the power terminals, got hot
with the amount of current, and melted the plastic insulation, causing a short,
which in
turn ignited the H2 and O2 mixture, no real
drama just a bit of a surprise !!!
The next step is to Upgrade the power
terminals. already got a 20% mpg increase,
and that was with just one small
prototype. More news soon, Yellow Peril (Rocket Fuel)

In the past week we have sent out 420 texts for the club There are still some messages not going out Members have been asked to update their details and let us know if they are not getting messages This request was via this site and also at the club meeting We have recieved a lot of positive feedback this week about the texting and a few members have contacted us about number updates It is a shame that one or two members have not contacted us directly to check details and would rather moan - same old story - give everyone a gold bar and there will be someone who complains that its either too heavy or too shiny LOL The committee are doing their best to keep everyone in the loop (including the other two clubs) - the co-operation of members is helpful We feel that texting is far more efficient than using email If you are reading this and you have not had your texts this week or know someone who is not getting them - will you please let us know (ie phone us to check we have the right phone number) Thanking you for your support LLROC

Hi All, It's not a bad idea to reward the hard working loyal few, I am sure
you all know, not every one is in a position to help out, and the committee
fully understand that, this is why we have to be VERY careful with any
sort of reward, otherwise some might say "It's just the chosen few who get the
rewards" having said that, we will look in to making more "Good will gestures"
at the end of the day we are all just a bunch of enthusiasts, doing what we do
best, getting out in the countryside with our Land Rovers. Thanks for your
support guys. Best regards Paul Leight. (Yellow Peril)

Thanks to: Samantha, Paul Skidmore, John Bennet, For
supporting the club this weekend at The Heritage Land Rover Weekend, Gaydon,
celebrating 60 Years of Land Rover.
The club Stand was excellent, and manned
all weekend (on site by 8:00am off site after 6:00pm Saturday and Sunday) as
always they are great ambassadors for the club, and always willing to give up
there own time, and at their own expense support and promote our club. I think
as a small gesture of thanks the club funds should pay their camping fee for the
weekend (£20/unit = £60 total).
Thanks to Mike from MT Productions, we now
have the preview DVD of 4 Wheels and mud featuring our club, it will be shown
tonight at the club meeting.
it was good to see Geoff (LLRS) at the weekend
with his PVEC hat on (not literally) good look at Brooklands, hope the weather
holds.

It's good to here Torvlle Mann is on the icey road to recovery although we would only give him a 3,5 for the execution of his interpretation of the belero, Although he had full conviction in his manouvers it was somewhat lacking in style and creative artisticness, With more practice and grace some have said that he may be in the running lineup for Prancing on Ice 2009, A spokes person for Torville Mann has said that he would like to thank the Welsh air ambulance for his swift extraction off the ice and he would like to appologise for his abuse of gas and air, The LLROC would like to thank the North Wales air ambulance for their quick response in recovering one of our members in his hour of need,

gump here past experience of mpi discos is they do about 25mpg and are very nippy not much slower than a v8, as a tdi disco does about 28mpg and petrol is cheaper they are both about as economical as the other, head gaskets go on the rover k16 engines as we all know, but the mpi engine is actually an k20 engine which is much stronger, so they are not as bad as people make out,

Dear friend,
The numpty bureaucrats and politicians are at it again! If you want to continue
to drive your classic car or you wish to preserve other's rights to do so please
see the following.
All vehicles over 10 years old are at risk from the environmentalist zealots who
fail to grasp that removing an old vehicle from the roads and replacing it with
a new vehicle will cause more environmental damage than if it was continued in
use for the remainder fo it's useful life. Many, probably most of these vehicles
are used for occasional hobby purposes only.
Several EU proposals across the years have been a threat to the classic car
movement. One that has been under consideration is to ban the use of cars older
than 10 years. Similarly, Edinburgh City Council is considering the banning of
cars over 15 years old from the town centre. These, and similar proposals
directly threaten the classic car movement, and encourage the manufacture of new
cars, with the attendant environmental issues of sourcing raw materials,
manufacturing, distributing and scrapping the spiralling supply of new vehicles.
I
invite you to sign the E-petition at:
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/classic-cars
